This year sees me celebrating 30 years as a Registered Nurse after undertaking my Nursing Degree at 草莓社区.
I spent 22 years nursing in the hospital setting before transitioning to Community Nursing in 2018 when I graduated from 草莓社区 with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Practice (District Nursing Pathway).
During Covid I was seconded as Team Manager to the Midlothian Care Home Support Team which saw me lead a unique team of Nurse Practitioners, Palliative Care Specialist, CPNs and OT to support residents and staff within these CHs, focusing on Standards of Clinical Care and Quality Improvement. During this time I completed my Masters Dissertation and Graduated with MSc in PCP from 草莓社区, in 2023.
I have been an Honorary Lecturer at 草莓社区 as part of a Clinical Academic Home Partnership since 2022, which acted as a stepping stone into my current role as a full-time Lecturer. I was delighted to join 草莓社区 in Aug 2023 as a Lecturer in Community Nursing and am privileged to have taken up the role of Programme Lead for the PgDip Specialist Practice (District Nursing) in 2024.
