Joanna Beveridge (BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, MSc in Palliative Care) is a Lecturer in the Occupational Therapy & Arts Therapies Division.

Joanna graduated from Queen Margaret College in 1995, and for 17 years worked in the NHS in a variety of clinical and managerial roles, mainly within an acute hospital setting but also in community hospitals and paediatrics. Joanna鈥檚 clinical passion lies in the area of palliative care, and she has held a Macmillan OT post for a period of time.听 Joanna has an MSc in Palliative Care.听 Joanna has also worked for NHS Education for Scotland as a Practice Education Facilitator, and was one of the first PEFs appointed in Scotland.听听
In 2012, Joanna came full circle and was appointed to the role of Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Queen Margaret University. Within this role Joanna鈥檚 main area of responsibility is that of Professional Practice Tutor for the undergraduate OT programme.听 Developing new placement areas, particularly in the Third Sector has been a major achievement in this role, as well as boosting Erasmus opportunities for students.听 Joanna has an Honorary Contract with St Columba鈥檚 Hospice, involving both clinical and educational activities.

Placement modules within the undergraduate programme. Development of Service Learning opportunities. Joanna's seminars and lectures focus on occupational therapy practice placements, practice in a changing context and becoming a professional, amongst other topics.
