I'm an evolutionary psychologist with experience studying voices, faces, politics, personality and health.聽I completed my PhD at the University of Stirling in 2015, supervised by Dr. Tony Little. My thesis explored evolutionary and cognitive approaches to voice perception. Themes investigated included perceptions of social traits using vocal stimuli (cooperativeness, trustworthiness), the time-course of these types of trait judgements,聽aspects of auditory memory and cross-modal signal congruency between faces and voices. Following the completion of my PhD, I worked as a research assistant on the Scottish Referendum Study (SRS) at the University of Edinburgh, where my experience in the psychology of perception first began to be applied to political decision making.

I teach on a variety of modules across undergraduate psychology. My main areas of teaching are in biological psychology, cognitive psychology, and evolutionary psychology.
