Dr Stuart Wilson (MA (Hons), M.Sc, Ph.D.) is a Senior Lecturer in the Psychology, Sociology and Education Division.

I completed a Ph.D at the University of Edinburgh (2003). Prior to this I completed an M.Sc (also from the University of Edinburgh; 1998) and an MA (Hons) from the University of Glasgow (1994). I joined ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø in 2002 and have undertaken a number of administrative, teaching and research roles.

Research/Knowledge Exchange Centre Membership:
I am an experimental psychologist with an interest in the adaptive function of cognition. I am interested in the nature of cognitive adaptations themselves as well as the role that they play in memory, attention and social/cultural phenomena.
I also have an interest in conceptual and philosophical issues in psychology, such as consciousness, the mind-body problem and epistemology

I teach mainly on research methods, statistics, conceptual issues and cognitive science. At level four I offer options in Evolutionary Psychology and Cognitive Science of Religion. My lectures and seminars focus on topics such as Psychological Enquiry, Psychological Citizenship, Issues in Psychology and Cognitive Science of Religion, amongst other topics
