²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø

LGBT+ Resources

With social justice central to our values, Queen Margaret University (²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø) is committed to equality and diversity. Part of that commitment is to create a welcoming environment on campus for all and ensure that nobody faces discrimination at ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø, whether they are students, staff members or those within the wider University community.

At ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø, we have an active LGBT+ student society and staff network group, and our School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management (ASSAM) has recently achieved silver charter status through LGBT Youth Scotland. Further information on all three can be found through the links at the bottom of this page.

Following the cancellation of Edinburgh Pride 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, staff and students at Queen Margaret University wanted to mark the event on its 25th anniversary by sending in banners and messages to be featured on our website. This resulted in our first ever virtual pride parade

The University recently held an online screening of the short film High Heels Aren't Compulsory, followed by a panel discussion with actor Jo Clifford and writer Elaine Gallagher. The full film and discussion with ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø staff and students can be found below.

Below you will find information about a range of resources available to LGBT+ members of the ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø community, both on campus and in Edinburgh.
